My family brought a new puppy home.We had a dog already and had to double up on our toys. So I found some old socks and made a braided rope for the new puppy to play with. I couldn't help but keep thinking what a good idea it was to recycle the old socks and cloth around the house. So I asked my friend Christina how I could advertise my idea. She said that a blog would be an excellent idea. So here I am blogging my idea.
Recycling cloth and old holey socks into:
1. dog ropes of all kinds (could be donateed to the homeless who have their loving companions, their dogs)
2. weaved rugs (rugs will have suction cups to keep the rug in place so it does not move around under your feet). Used for habitat and humanities when they build new homes for needy people.
3. making quilts and blankets to donate to people who need blankets
4. pot holders
5. scarves
6. curtains
7. clothes
8. hot pads (to protect the table from hot pots)
9. clothes for baby dolls or barbies
These are some of the ideas I came up with. It would be a cheritable thing to do especially in these hard economic times. The cloth also is recycled instead of wasted. In dire times people need to be thankful for what they have and be willing to help those who are in need of help. So, if you run across my sight and have any other ideas that might helpful blog me that idea. If you have worked with a charity or know information about how to contact a charity let me know.
